Jake ... another surgery, but he is doing fine now!

Poor Jake ,,, seems to have all the bad luck with the gene pool!

He had a small lump on his nose that we thought was some sort of animal bite (angry chipmunk etc) then we found another one on his side ... off to the vet who was concerned enought to order needle aspiration followed by surgery. The good news was that after 4 nail biting days the pathologist came back with good news - lumps were benign and nothing to worry about .... the bad news was the vet carved out huge margins just incase they were more sinister lumps. Poor jake - lost a significant chunk of his nose (put together with a bunch of staples!!) and a massive piece out of his side ... more staples.
He was on leash arrest for 2 weeks (not happy) and had to wear a T/shirt to stop chewing .... not happy about that either - so it was a long 2 weeks. The staples came out yesterday and he is FREE and so HAPPY - running around and playing - his favourite thing is long grass - loves to hide and pounce on the girls - they all have fun together in a big grassy area.
Anyway - our 94lb dog is really not a fan of the vet now (they keep cutting into him so I can see his point of view) but he is back to his cheerful self. Hope all the other puppies avoid this oddity!

Jake sends his greetings from Park City and hopes all his littermates are doing well and enjoying the Fall weather around the country.

Take care
Jake and family

Oh man! Poor Jake! I'm glad he came out okay and that he's getting back to normal. Poor pooch.

I'm so glad to hear that Jake's doing better now--how scary! Anya's been fine, but we've been hit hard with swine flu here. Anya's biggest problem is that we've been too sick to take her out to the dog park!!! She sits next to us on the couch, heaving big dramatic sighs and hooting her little "woo" noise anytime we try to take back SOME of the blanket! But she's loving the chicken noodle soup!

Hope you all are doing well with your furry creatures!

Take care,
Jess
