Poor Jake ,,, seems to have all the bad luck with the gene pool!
He had a small lump on his nose that we thought was some sort of animal bite (angry chipmunk etc) then we found another one on his side ... off to the vet who was concerned enought to order needle aspiration followed by surgery. The good news was that after 4 nail biting days the pathologist came back with good news - lumps were benign and nothing to worry about .... the bad news was the vet carved out huge margins just incase the…

Hi there! I have been doing some web searching to find out a bit more on Miss Zoe, whom I adopted from Ernest back in April. He had told me a bit about her history and how she found her way to the great northwest, but it wasn't until I came across the blogs that I am fully realizing what an amazing family she is from.
She is an absolute gem. Sweet and kind and with the more patience than I could ask for. She absolutely loves people, dogs and cats without discretion. I have found her curled up w…

Hi everybody!
I can't believe it's been a whole year since we were on the road with the puppies. Time does fly doesn't it?
Hope everybody and their furkids are well and happy. We're fine here, and I'm sorry I haven't added photos sooner than this.
Jack went to the vet about 3 weeks ago for a small round sore by his mouth that we didn't know what it might be. We thought it might be ringworm, but Doc JoAnn said it was a micro hotspot. He got a shot and some antibiotics for home. She said it cou…

HAPPY THANKSGIVING EVERYBODY!! And thank you Kathleen, for the email wishes and kind words. We here at the farm just want to say again to all of you how much we appreciate the homes you've given the puppies. I guess they're not exactly puppIES now though, but they are still pups!
All is well with us; Jack is still growing, though maybe slowing down some. He has a good romp around the yard with his mom every morning, and then again in the afternoon. Makes him nice and tired. Which is good. :)

I got the pictures up - sorry about the same title (although they were all taken in Park City!!).
Jake is recovering from his shoulder surgery (apparently the only puppy to draw the short straw of bung shoulders!!?) and enjoying the extended fall season in PC this year.
He is loving life with his 3 young girls and many doggy friends that he is rounding up - his fur is nearly grown back on his shoulder and he looks very handsome.
Small chewing problem which we thought we had under control (after…

Sorry it's been quite awhile since I've posted anything on here. Work has been crazy & working deep nights doesn't exactly leave me with a normal life. Anyhoo, Koda Bear is absolutely wonderful! She is now 80 pounds! I still have a hard time believing she grew up sooooo fast! It's amazing to go back and look at all the puppy photos just a few months ago and to see how little they all were. Geez time flys! I hope everyone is doing well with their babies....big babies now. Koda has managed to…

We are in the Grand Teton National Park, in Colter Bay campground. Having a grand time, even though something is wrong with our aqua-hot heating system, and we have no furnace nor hot water. But hey, we're roughing it!
It's beautiful here; our favorite place to be. Jack and Rupert are having a good time too; Rupert is an old hand at being out here, and Jack--well, Jack is loving it. More smells than you can imagine, and he is sniffing them all. I am counting it as a success when I walk him if

We are in Rock Springs, WY. We left Saturday to head for our eagerly anticipated vacation in the Tetons, of Wyoming. Just a few short days before our departure, a wonderful family in Park City, Utah inquired about Jake. After emails and phone calls, we brought Jake with us in the RV to meet his new mom, here in Rock Springs. She drove about 2 hours to meet us here; she is delightful, and we are so happy that Rebecca and her family wanted to adopt Jake. He is going to have three little girls to p…

Thank goodness, Lady is now spayed! Actually was done a week ago; we had to use our neighbor's horse trailer, as we still cannot get a collar on her. She's very sweet, very happy to be petted, and rubbed all over. I can handle her feet, her mouth, look at her teeth--all that, but if she even gets a glance at something like a collar in your hand, she just moves away. Doesn't run, just moves out of reach.
So, we fed her in the trailer for a day, then the night before her surgery fed her in there…

Blue has been adopted! A terrific family in Arkansas wanted to add him to their family, and we drove over to Tulsa, OK this afternoon to meet them halfway. They're wonderful people, and their 3 year old son just captivated Blue. I think they will be great friends!
We are so happy about this, and couldn't wait to tell the rest of you. Blue's new mom has already visited our site here, and plans on joining. Great!!
Jake has a pending adoption, too. I'll talk more about it in a few days. Tonight,…

She has tapeworm. Which explains why she went after my breakfast yesterday. I think we somewhere got off schedule with our flea treatment. Anyway, she and Daisy are both dosed up and being aggressively treated, so she should be fine in a few days. Chicken and rice, which will make both of them happy.

Callie's going back to the vet today (my dogs, I think, secretly have some vendetta to prevent me from getting a new dishwasher--last month Daisy had bronchitis on the cusp of pneumonia and Callie got spayed). We woke up this morning to massive runny poo with blood in it and vomit. She ate a rock. I found the rock. And she's still having issues going potty. Vet office opens in 50 minutes. I'm trying not to freak out and think about scary things like knotted up intestines and stuff that can't be…

We went last night up to Oklahoma City for Jack and Rupert's first class together. We only have about 2 more puppy classes at Petsmart, and wanted something more, that Rupert could go to also. We found a school in OKC called PositivelyCanine, and it is run by two women who have been training dogs for many years. We had our first class with them last night.
The classes are in a much bigger area than the small training area at Petsmart. I like that a lot. There were five other dogs in the class,…

.......are now posted on Carol's website. (www.ozarkdogs.org) She plans on posting them on Petfinder also today. Yea!! We so want for them the same kind of homes that all your pups found. They would, of course, have a fine life here on the farm, and will if they are not adopted, but we are hoping for something more for them. It's just the reality that Faye and I can't take them into the house, into the RV, and make them also part of our family, much as we might want to. We will not travel withou…

Koda is absolutely wonderful! She is getting big so fast, we can hardly believe how much she has grown since she came home on May 2nd. As of this past Monday 06/16/08 she weighed in at 28 pounds. She's beautiful, and she has Tim & I wrapped around her paws! Her favorite toys right now are tennis balls....or at least tearing the felt off the tennis balls, and the rope bones. It's amazing how fast she destroys them. Koda is definitely displaying her Malamute traits now.....she loves to dig hol…

Well we've settled into a routine here at Casa De Puppy. Up at 5:15 to walk (cringe), chew on favorite cow hoof until Mom either leaves for work or loads Daisy and Callie into the car to go out to grandpa's for doggy day care. We've discovered that she doesn't balk at baths unless they are cold. Ordered a set of bath tethers-totally a must have for pups who aren't digging the water. It really helps to have your hands free! We're delighted to see that Callie's color is darkening up. She now has n…
