She has tapeworm. Which explains why she went after my breakfast yesterday. I think we somewhere got off schedule with our flea treatment. Anyway, she and Daisy are both dosed up and being aggressively treated, so she should be fine in a few days. Chicken and rice, which will make both of them happy.

Callie's going back to the vet today (my dogs, I think, secretly have some vendetta to prevent me from getting a new dishwasher--last month Daisy had bronchitis on the cusp of pneumonia and Callie got spayed). We woke up this morning to massive runny poo with blood in it and vomit. She ate a rock. I found the rock. And she's still having issues going potty. Vet office opens in 50 minutes. I'm trying not to freak out and think about scary things like knotted up intestines and stuff that can't be…

Anya just lost her first tooth! Looks very much like a Shark tooth! Have any of the others started teething?
Is there a Tooth Fairy for dogs?

We went last night up to Oklahoma City for Jack and Rupert's first class together. We only have about 2 more puppy classes at Petsmart, and wanted something more, that Rupert could go to also. We found a school in OKC called PositivelyCanine, and it is run by two women who have been training dogs for many years. We had our first class with them last night.
The classes are in a much bigger area than the small training area at Petsmart. I like that a lot. There were five other dogs in the class,…

.......are now posted on Carol's website. (www.ozarkdogs.org) She plans on posting them on Petfinder also today. Yea!! We so want for them the same kind of homes that all your pups found. They would, of course, have a fine life here on the farm, and will if they are not adopted, but we are hoping for something more for them. It's just the reality that Faye and I can't take them into the house, into the RV, and make them also part of our family, much as we might want to. We will not travel withou…

Koda is absolutely wonderful! She is getting big so fast, we can hardly believe how much she has grown since she came home on May 2nd. As of this past Monday 06/16/08 she weighed in at 28 pounds. She's beautiful, and she has Tim & I wrapped around her paws! Her favorite toys right now are tennis balls....or at least tearing the felt off the tennis balls, and the rope bones. It's amazing how fast she destroys them. Koda is definitely displaying her Malamute traits now.....she loves to dig hol…

Well we've settled into a routine here at Casa De Puppy. Up at 5:15 to walk (cringe), chew on favorite cow hoof until Mom either leaves for work or loads Daisy and Callie into the car to go out to grandpa's for doggy day care. We've discovered that she doesn't balk at baths unless they are cold. Ordered a set of bath tethers-totally a must have for pups who aren't digging the water. It really helps to have your hands free! We're delighted to see that Callie's color is darkening up. She now has n…

I wanted to post photos (and just did) of the two boys we still have here at the farm. We thought they had a home waiting for them, but that has fallen through. We haven't heard from the woman whom we thought wanted them. So, we will begin to try to find them their forever home(s). They are so sweet and loving; they just want to be petted and talked to. They rip and romp with each other, but if you go out there all their attention is on you. They just love attention--human attention. We'll be gi…

Actually, we consider ourselves "home" wherever we are in the mtorhome. But we are back at the farm. When we arrived we had a nice reunion with Grandma and Granddaddy; they couldn't believe how much Jack had grown. Even though the two brothers are still here, Jack is a little bit bigger than them. Jack and his brothers and mom had a reunion too; they definitely all remembered one another, and were glad to see each other.
Today we will check into Petsmart's training classes, and get into a puppy…

I swear Callie has supercanine powers of cuteness. They would not likely be enough to avoid discipline if she were a typical puppy, constantly chewing on stuff she isn't supposed to or pottying inside, but other than 3 accidents, and the occasional mouthing of something, she's such an incredibly GOOD puppy. Hence the cuteness makes me want to cuddle her constantly (an eventuality that Callie is perfectly okay with), a desire I have to curb part of the time so as not to offend our other dog Daisy…

Well, Callie had her first bath today. That went over like a lead balloon. You'd think we were torturing the poor baby she was crying so much. We washed Daisy (who likes baths) first in hopes that Callie would see, hey, these aren't so bad. But no. No dice. Once she got dried off, it seems we were forgiven. Then we discovered
the ball. Her sister is all about those larger rubber balls that she can bounce of her nose like a seal, but Callie, we discovered,
loves tennis balls. She wa…

So we drove up to West Memphis on Friday night to meet up with Luanne, Faye, Jack, Rupert, and Callie. I don't think I got diddly squat done at work, I was so excited! They were all lovely, and Jack is a real sweetheart. If we hadn't already had Daisy, Allen and I might have tried to adopt him too! He and Callie are SO cute together. They have the same mismatched eyes. I tried to take a picture but never could quite get them facing me at the same time. We made it back to Starkville to Grandma an…

Well, Luanne and Faye arrived in Memphis last night, so Allen and I are headed up at 3 to pick Callie up today! Whee! We're so excited! And a little sobered too. There was a house fire down the street from our house yesterday and the lady lost her dog and two cats. So sad and tragic. We can fully sympathize having lost our dog Angel to tragic circumstances not that long ago. So we're sending out prayers for Heather (the dog) and the two cats and their mom, who is certainly grieving.
Time needs…

Well it's 6 more days until we go get Callie. We're excited. I picked up a bag of puppy chow, puppy biscuits, rawhide chew toys, and a new collar (went with 14-20"...I think that should fit for a while) in red. We've been telling everybody about her and showing off the few pics we've got like proud parents. The universal response when we tell them what mix she is "Oh wow, that's gonna be a big dog." Yeah, yeah she is. But they're all
so cute! Her cousin Teal'c is visiting overnight and he…
