Oh man! Poor Jake! I'm glad he came out okay and that he's getting back to normal. Poor pooch.

Callie, at 87 pounds, is really enjoying the burst of cool weather we're having!

God, that is so gorgeous! I'm jealous you live near anywhere that looks like that!

We use some of those bath tethers that suction cup to the sides of the tub and attach to their collar. The rest of the year (which we can do more than the rest of you sine we're in Mississippi) we wash her outside.

That's wonderful news! Anya's edging 90+ now, but that's only 'cause she's such a garbage gut--we've got to keep EVERYTHING out of reach from our little countertop grazer! I caught her eyeing up a watermelon yesterday--you could practically see he...

Callie had her annual visit today. She's 86.5 pounds! She's very proud to be catching up to her sibs. She and Daisy are both very happy and healthy and ready for fall. How is everybody?

So we can get them spayed this early? I thought it was around 6 months?? If we can I might just get that done for her!

Macy has her times. We love it when she perks those ears up but most time they are flopped over. She is very hairy fluffy...she is now shedding like crazy. Brushings are a must for this little lady. She's getting big though. Soon I wont be able to pick her up anymore! How's your little one?

Jack is huge! And the sobering thought is, he's not nearly as huge as he's gonna be!

He's doing great though; I think he likes living in the house with us, rather than out at the barn. His mom was in the yard a few days ago and she and he played and ran some, but in just a few minutes he had run back to where we were on the front porch, all excited and happy to see us, and then standing at the front door looking back at us like, OK, let's go in now. Was cute.

I had the same reaction when I got Koda home the first day and saw that she was already the same size at 9 weeks old as our Cocker Spaniel! She is a cute puff ball.....just a big puff ball!

Thanks for putting this site together. It is so nice to know the puppies have found such loving homes. Love the countdown clock!

Profile Information

Where do you live?
Starkville, MS
Which furbaby did you give a forever home?
"Jumper", whom we renamed Callie
Why did you choose your particular furbaby?
It was totally the eyes. We found her picture on Petfinder.com and the mismatched eyes made us absolutely fall in love!
Tell us about your furbaby!
Callie is the calmest, most well behaved puppy either my husband or I have ever had. It's amazing. She's been home for 2 days and we've had ZERO inside accidents, no happy/excited piddles, no destroyed furniture, shoes, or even dog toys. She's just a really laid back little pup--the perfect addition to the family. And she LOVES to cuddle!
Is this your first time to adopt a rescue?
First rescue, but not first shelter dog.
Who are the other members of your furbaby's family?
Me (mom), Allen (dad), adoptive sister Daisy (border collie mix), cousin Teal'c (husky or mal/shepherd mix), cousin Maggie (lab mix), grandma and grandpa

Relieved

She has tapeworm. Which explains why she went after my breakfast yesterday. I think we somewhere got off schedule with our flea treatment. Anyway, she and Daisy are both dosed up and being aggressively treated, so she should be fine in a few days. Chicken and rice, which will make both of them happy.

Scared

Callie's going back to the vet today (my dogs, I think, secretly have some vendetta to prevent me from getting a new dishwasher--last month Daisy had bronchitis on the cusp of pneumonia and Callie got spayed). We woke up this morning to massive runny poo with blood in it and vomit. She ate a rock. I found the rock. And she's still having issues going potty. Vet office opens in 50 minutes. I'm trying not to freak out and think about scary things like knotted up intestines and stuff that can't be… Continue

Settling In

Well we've settled into a routine here at Casa De Puppy. Up at 5:15 to walk (cringe), chew on favorite cow hoof until Mom either leaves for work or loads Daisy and Callie into the car to go out to grandpa's for doggy day care. We've discovered that she doesn't balk at baths unless they are cold. Ordered a set of bath tethers-totally a must have for pups who aren't digging the water. It really helps to have your hands free! We're delighted to see that Callie's color is darkening up. She now has n… Continue

Supercanine Powers

I swear Callie has supercanine powers of cuteness. They would not likely be enough to avoid discipline if she were a typical puppy, constantly chewing on stuff she isn't supposed to or pottying inside, but other than 3 accidents, and the occasional mouthing of something, she's such an incredibly GOOD puppy. Hence the cuteness makes me want to cuddle her constantly (an eventuality that Callie is perfectly okay with), a desire I have to curb part of the time so as not to offend our other dog Daisy… Continue
